Saturdays are usually a big social day at the shop. Today was no exception. The day started with a power steering pump installation on David’s STI. The old pump was faulty and we managed to get our friends at Clay Subaru to import one just for us. David left with a new pump, new belt and was much happier than when he came in; satisfying job.
Civic Project Update
After the pump install Bill finished installing an Integra Type R rear swaybar on a project Civic. We did billet rear lower arms, Tein Super Racing suspension, Type R sway bar and a fresh tune on this little Civic. It’s been built by another shop for track days at Lime Rock. It looks like it’s going to be a blast. Scot came in later in the afternoon and we pushed the Civic onto the scales for Scot to work some corner weighting magic and ride height adjustment before it leaves.
Dance off, Dyno pull-off?

ze baden boys.
Traveling back in time a few nights to Thursday night, we’re sitting at a bar in Brighton and using pseudonyms, The Clam and Kippy began to have a battle over who had the more powerful Kraut powered machine. It came to a head, insults being thrown back and fourth and finally we all decided to hold a dyno pull-off, scheduled for today, Saturday. Kippy just bought a beautiful 997 Carerra S and The Clam’s ride-of -choice is a V8 E92 M3. Both cars have very closely advertised power. Which would make more?

I decided to make a big deal about it and take a lot of pictures and movies to capture the feeling of victory and also that of loss after the exhaust smoke settled.
Meanwhile during the day the Toltec Rally team came to test their rally car on the special pond stage. The new subframe and control arm were on, new fender, alignment and a general service. Testing went well and the car was backed into storage for the week.
Charbel brought some delicious phyllo-dough treats for us. None of us were sure what they were called but the best description was Canoli mated to Baklava.
While all of this was happening, I was applying more paint to my new fender flares for the Evo. At the very end of the day I riveted two of the four onto the car. They look great… so much better than before. (the car is in the air in this pic.. ignore the fender gap)

Surprise of the day!
Our friend from Subaru, who for the sake of the blog shall remain a nameless benefactor, came by today. He bequeathed us with the mother-load of factory brochures. Two giant boxes of printed matter.. from Legacy to Forester. STi, Impreza.. all the manuals for body, electrical and drivetrain! What other shop has this!? We’re buying a bookshelf now (seriously) to show off this collection. It will certainly come in handy! Case of beer coming to you sir.

-until next week….

I wonder who this mysterious BAVARIAN is? He seems to have a liking to BMW.
Angelo- good to hear from you man. We’re going to try to keep on this. Hopefully we can stick to it for a while.
So who won the pull-off?!? …we now Sandy wins the pull-off nightly, but in this case?
I had a sweet video to show the results but lost it. Thanks to Microsoft. So, Munich has their flags at half-staff tonight. Fireworks over Stuttgart.
